Visit to Totter’s Otterville

This past weekend, Lillian and I visited Totter’s Otterville – a great little place that has tons of fun experiences for little ones. Here are some highlights of our trip!

And of course, there was a giant ball pit! Lots of fun for both of us!

2 Year Old Photo Shoot

Back in April, we had my friend, Shelly, take Lillian’s pictures to commemorate her 2nd year of life! We had a ton of fun at the park on an absolutely gorgeous day! All three of us had a fun time and the pictures turned out wonderfully! Take a look!!

Neighborhood Fun

I love where we live. Love it! Here’s why:

1. Location! Location! Location! Being centrally located and minutes from downtown is wonderful. We are within walking distance to numerous shops, restaurants, and parks!

2. My front porch in the spring time. The picture does not accurately capture it, but this beautiful bloom stuns me every time I see it!

3. Yes, the homes are on top of each other, but there is something very ‘safe’ about having everyone be all up in your business. My neighbors are so great and helpful. Whether they are clearing snow from my driveway, or zipping me into a dress (the ladies, of course!), I am glad to have them around!

4. Leaky basements are no cause for concern. Given the large amounts of rain that Cincinnati has received lately, our leaky basement is holding up quite well! The de-humidifier is our most prized possession!

5. Schools! While it is yet-to-be-determined where Lillian will go to school, we live by a TON of them. So, not only are we in the clear for being safe from having registered child molesters as neighbors, but we have tons of options for fun being that their jungle gyms are open to the public! Lillian and I often spend Sunday afternoons running around these parks!

Summer Hair

Looking forward constant warm and humid weather – I love this curly hair!! The cuddles aren’t so bad either!

Toy Story

20110515-024125.jpgWe have officially hit the stage of kid-hood we watch the same thing over, and over, and over, and over again. Thankfully, kids movies are cute and kinda funny these days, and I get a little excited whenever Lillian looks at me hopefully and says, “Buzz?”. Obviously, she is referencing Buzz Lightyear, and obviously, she wants to watch Toy Story 3. Her eyes light up and she gets in a fit of giggles when she sees the little bouncing Pixar desk light. Thanks, Netflix, for offering up this delight!

Funny Talk

Now that Lillian is talking more and more every day, I am starting a new blog category called, “Funny Talk”, to capture the things that she says that make me giggle. Enjoy.

Background: Being the great helper that she is, I asked Lillian to retrieve a diaper for me before a diaper change. Her diapers have Sesame Street character’s on them. She likes to identify Cookie Monster, Grover, Elmo, etc.

Lisa: Who is on your diaper, Lillian?
Lillian: Poop on diaper.

So smart. So true.

Mother’s Day 2011

We spent Mother’s Day at the Zoo with the Bohlander Family. The four kids had a great time running around the playground, viewing all of the zoo babies, munching on lunch, and spending time with their Mommas!

The Zoo is a really fun experience this season because Lillian can identify most of the animals, (yes, she even says ‘peacock’), and makes the appropriate animal sounds. And the ones that she got wrong, like calling a rhinoceros a hippo – well, of course they look the same, right? Lillian especially enjoyed the gibbons that were hooting and hollering and swinging all around!
