Nail Date
What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than painting our nails and watching Veggie Tales? Lillian spent the rest of the evening admiring her pretty fingers and toes.
Counting Toddler
Lillian has been amazing us with her everything that she is learning – her letter and number recognition is rapidly growing! She does crack me up from time to time, because she will consistently drop numbers. Recently, her least favorite number has been ’4′. The other day, we used blackberries to drive home the idea of ’4′ – she thought it was hilarious!
Back to School
Once again, Lillian has been soaking up the love from her family up in Sylvania. I, as well, soaked some of the love up this weekend, when I went to retrieve her! I know her Grandma’s/Grandpa’s, Great Grandma’s/Great Grandpa’s, Aunts, Uncles, and friends all enjoyed their time with her and are missing her already!
Now that we’re back in our routine, Lillian returned to school this morning and all of her buddies were excited to see her. She insisted on wearing her sunglasses when we walked into the classroom, and clung to my leg a bit, but Miss Amanda was quick to swoop in and reacclimate her to her surroundings. I picked up her latest round of artwork and updated Lillian’s gallery in my office! Back to work!
Funny Talk
Context: Lillian was eating breakfast, I was making bacon for my breakfast sandwich. I hadn’t told Lillian what I was doing, nor could she see what I was doing. Microwave beeps that it is finished.
Lillian: (yelling) Bacon ready! Bacon ready!
Me: (laughing, and making a mental note to cut back on my bacon consumption) Do you like bacon, Lillian?
Lillian: Lily like bacon, Momma like bacon.
Me: (laughing some more) You’re a good kid, Lily.
Lillian: You’re a good kid, Momma.
Summer Visitors
We were so happy to host Uncle Brandon and Megan last night for dinner as they traveled back home from their Tennessee vacation. We grilled some delicious chicken and veggies, and, of course, watched ‘Buzz‘ (Toy Story 3). Lillian found particular hilarity in having our guests smell her feet. When babies are little, they smell delicious…my sweet little girl actually has very stinky feet from playing in her sandals all day. The reactions of Brandon and Megan, aren’t too overdone – she is stinky!!
Thanks for visiting us last night (and for helping to clean up the yard, Uncle Brandon!) We love you and miss you already!
