Constipated Infant

Lillian is really starting to get the hang of eating from a spoon, and, somehow, she seems to enjoy the rice cereal. But…it’s stopping her up. Our little love has had her knees to her tummy, and has been straining to poo since Friday. On Saturday her face turned so red when trying, and she started to whimper – it was so sad! I called the pediatricians office, and the nurse said to give her some prune juice. I did just that yesterday and a bit today, and it definitely seems to be helping. She’s had about four poos since then and seems more comfortable. However, her knees are still up so we might be moving to some fruit sooner than planned to get her system a bit more regular without the prune juice.

Naughty Baby

Lillian must be thinking – “Get that camera out of my face lady!” If she does this when she’s older, I will pull out a great parenting line – “I will cut that finger off!”

Baby Playing with Balloons

Lillian has found a new toy – balloons! She had a lot of fun with the balloons that Grandma got for her birthday yesterday!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Lillian wishes Grandma Bonnie a happy birthday today! We’re looking forward to celebrating tonight!

Baby Eating Rice Cereal

I documented Lillian’s first experience with rice cereal. She did pretty good! And for the record, it’s the most bland taste ever! Yuck!

The first bite:

Eventually, she got the hang of it, and when we were done it was a huge mess!

Rice Cereal is Funny

I find myself doing absolutely ridiculous things in order to make Lillian laugh. I sing about everything and she usually finds it pretty amusing (as most people do!) My latest platinum hit is about rice cereal. I made up the song as I was about to feed Lily her first batch of rice cereal, mmmm!

4 Month Baby Check Up

photo-1

Lillian had her four month check up on Thursday and she’s doing wonderfully! She is meeting all of the developmental milestones and continues to be a growing girl! Here are her stats:

Weight: 14 pounds 12 ounces

Length 25.14 inches

Head: 16.75 inches

She got another round of 5 vaccines – 1 orally and 4 shots (you can see her bandaids below). She handled the shots very well and barely cried. I gave her a few drops of sugar water before the shots were administered so perhaps that helped! The doctor also gave us the okay to start feeding her solids…we’ve begun and, of course, it’s been documented! Stay tuned!

Headed Home…Again!

Lillian and I are headed home again this weekend for some pre-wedding activities for my friend Lynn. Of course, the Grandma’s and Grandpa’s are excited to spend time with the little cutie again! Here are some highlights from the last time that Lillian spent some time in Sylvania!

Daddy?

p_2048_1536_651AB5CF-CCC3-4D9B-8DA2-74CFED45AEC6.jpegDaddy and Lillian had to spend some extra time together making the same faces last night because Brian embarked on a three week mess of travel for work this morning. Of course, we have some travel of our own scheduled over the coming weeks and our time away is pretty much the only time that Brian will be home, bummer! We’ll catch up during early morning feedings here and there, but even so, we will be missing him a lot!

The good news is that Ellen is back on TV during the week, so she’ll be bringing us some good laughs and dancing to keep us busy!

Florida Trip

We returned home yesterday from our trip to Florida, and I apologize for not updating much while we were away – I left my cell phone at home! Geesh, that was tragic! I felt naked not having it with me! Anyway, the trip was really great! Lillian completed two plane rides and did really well, she only fussed for about 10 minutes on the return flight, but otherwise she pretty much just slept. It was quite enjoyable seeing the faces of the other passengers when we boarded the plane – TOTAL DREAD! Relax homies, it’s all good!

All of the animal activity didn’t phase Lily one bit – lots of animals to study. She enjoyed petting the cats and dogs and they took very well to her! I would walk her around in the evenings to get her to calm her down and the largest german shepherd that I have even seen, Hunter, would escort us. I wanted to bring him home with us! Our time spent with Kristin and Mark was really nice and laid back – just what we needed before the busy month that lies ahead!
