Momcation

Yep, I made the word Momcation up…perhaps other moms use it as well to describe a trip that they are taking without their little one? That’s how I use it. I am headed to Las Vegas this morning to spend some time in the sun, and to see my secret boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, perform. I heart him and his music so I’m pretty excited! Lillian will be soaking up some love from her grandparents in Sylvania while I am gone. I am sure they will be documenting her stay with loads and loads of photos that I’ll be sure to post when I return!

Baby in High Chair

l_2048_1536_816A2714-69F2-4C5A-A9F0-CDB7DDC4B3A4.jpeg

Lillian has graduated to her high chair! She loves hanging out and playing in it while I prepare her rice cereal or oatmeal. It sits at the perfect height for Andy to stick his nose in there and be face to face with her – they have stare downs! The chair is really great for feedings! It keeps her in place and she doesn’t twist around and squiggle all over. It also keeps the mess on the tray instead of her clothing…for the most part! Pretty soon we will be introducing real foods like peas and apples!

I Never Want to Forget…

How soft the palms of Lillian’s little hands are.

Stairs of Terror

p_2048_1536_1E8A293E-D846-4CDF-9932-E64DBFA5E50F.jpegThe title of this post fits right in with the season!  Earlier this week, I fell down the stairs while I was holding Lillian. I have always been afraid of this happening, and was shocked when it occurred while there were no other distractions while I was on the stairs. The dog wasn’t in the way, I wasn’t on my phone, I wasn’t carrying additional things, I had my contacts in! I was literally just carrying Lillian and walking down the stairs like a normal person. I got near the bottom of the stairs, and my left foot slipped out in front of me, and down I went. Lillian immediately started crying and I started crying because I was terrified of what could have happened to her. She calmed down after a couple of minutes and I laid her down to check her out. Thankfully, she seemed fine and was laughing and cooing during her inspection. Once I was sure that she was okay, my body was in pain! Clearly I had cushioned Lillian during the fall. This week I have been incredibly sore from my left foot, all the way up to the right side of my neck – OUCH!

College Game Day Baby

p_800_600_5239E103-3E1A-4855-A4BD-D243C63E42C2.jpegLillian was ready to cheer on the Redhawks this past weekend…and later on in the day, we threw on her Florida Gators bib and sent cheer their way too! More importantly, do you see this kid ready to stand on her own. She’s standing now just holding on to our fingers! Sitting up and crawling are apparently not worth it – she wants to go right to standing! I suppose we need to start thinking about baby proofing the house sooner rather than later! It may be a challenge keeping Lillian confined to spaces that do not interfere with the dog and cat moving around…maybe we should just move…

Baby Explosion

Here is Tanya with little Mia, Julia with really little Max and Calvin, and me with giant Lillian! It seems like every day another friend of mine pops out a baby! It’s fun to hang out with the little babies now, but will be even more when they can run around and play with each other! With every baby visit, I take a little treat for the new momma and baby – fancy burp cloths! And by fancy, I mean I sew a piece of nice fabric down the middle – it spices up the whole baby spit-up thing!

Playing in Bumbo Seat

We were at Toys R Us the other day and they have some really cool toys for 6mo+ perfect for Lillian! I’m glad that I held off from buying them, because she is easily amused by the simpler things in life…like paper towel rolls.

Baby in Laundry Basket

Even though Lillian is a little person, she still adds a lot of extra laundry to the mix!l_2048_1536_6604C1ED-038C-4657-9E4F-A25C17293C43.jpegSometimes, not having an extra set of hands can turn out to be pretty cute!

Baby Oatmeal

Waiting patiently for her morning oatmeal.
