So it has been a long and busy month! Most of it was spent not feeling so hot. It was pretty miserable! Brian continues to be absolutely amazing in helping out around the house and bringing me water and crackers at a moments notice – he’s so GREAT! I actually was active for a few weekends, one was spent visiting my friend Allison’s new house in Canton and then my family came in for a visit, then Brian’s parents came in for a visit. All of these adventures were great but they sure did wear me out! Lots of sleeping afterwards!!

As far as the baby goes, we had an appt. on October 1st. The doctor tried to find the heartbeat using a doppler but was unable to. I was really bummed because I really wanted some reassurance that everything was okay since we hadn’t seen the baby since early September. The doctor gave me no reason to worry though so instead I just opted for a first trimester genetic test that involved an ultrasound. That testing was over the past two weeks. I had early screening for downs syndrome and trisomy 13 and 18?? I also had a blood test to see the chances of me carrying the muscular dystrophy gene since my uncle died of that before I was born. I should get the test results back soon but so far I have nothing to worry about. Another part of the test involved an ultrasound. We got to watch the baby for 45 minutes since it was being stubborn and not getting in the position the tech needed for the testing measurement! It’s the cutest thing ever wiggling all around – I’m in love!

Now we’ve started announcing it to everyone else. Pretty much the only people that don’t know are my coworkers, I’m waiting until our Halloween party to announce it. I have a bun in the oven costume that I’m pretty excited to wear!

Aye yie yie! Received the first round of medical bills in the mail today…I naively thought that children don’t start to get super expensive till they get older. While my insurance covers all of my regular preventative care apparently prenatal appoints to prevent baby and momma from becoming ill during pregnancy does not count. The $1,500 deductible isn’t so bad, but when that limit restarts January 1st, BOO! Better get to sewing marvelous creations that I can sell!*update* i forgot that my employer gives us $1,250 towards that deductible each year – sweet!!!

Now I’m not feeling so hot but I think it’s just extreme exhaustion since I hadn’t really moved for the 2 weeks prior to this recent good streak. Now that I actually can manage talking, I am repeatedly telling Brian how much I appreciate everything he’s done for me while I laid comatose on the couch. He’s the best!

Fun: Telling a few close people about the pregnancy.
Not fun: Nausea! Feeling nauseous almost 24 hours a day is one of the more depressing things I’ve ever experienced! I guess it’s good because it keeps my mind off the constant worrying if the baby is okay since there’s not much to signify such…except for the nausea! I don’t want to talk, eat, move, anything! I have to keep reminding myself that it’s a blessing. This just feels like a constant flu bug and still not so much pregnancy. I get really creeped out when people refer to me as “Mom”. Back to managing the nausea.

We might have to slow things down at the next appointment in about a month.
