Baby Songs
As mentioned before, we LOVE the baby music classes offered at blue manatee! We have a few favorite songs that we sing around the house and it appears that Lillian is recognizing the songs and wanting to ’sing’ along. In this particular song, she has the part down where ‘we stand outside with our mouths open wide’! I hope you enjoy my singing – unfortunately, I am too old to try out for Glee…
Baby Pull Ups
In addition to keeping us on our toes with her crawling, Lillian is now making sure that we keep our coffee table nice and clean so that her little hands don’t land on anything dangerous. Yes, she is pulling herself up to her knees. She pulls up on the coffee table, tv stand, couch, crib, people. She is still mastering the art of her pull ups and sometimes gets stuck – that usually ends up with some tears, but she is quickly learning to get back down to all fours and get into other mischief!
Morning Baby
If you know me well, you know that morning is not my best time of day. I need some time to wake up and it is really best to not interact with me until I initiate interaction with you. Yep, I am a morning crab. The cure to the morning crab? Lillian Marie! For one, I never have to set an alarm, I just wake up to her. The sound of her baby babble, or even a little fussing beats an annoying alarm any day! Then, when I go into her room, I am greeted by this:
EVERY MORNING THIS IS WHAT I WAKE UP TO! I dare you to tell me anything better in your morning than this! I will beat you up if you try to challenge this! But really, since I am passive aggressive, I will just de-friend you on Facebook! Anyhoo…not only is she a smiling bundle of joy, she now says ‘Mamamamamama’. Morning crab gone!
Baby Proof TV Stand
It may not look like much at first glance, but if you look closer, you will notice a sheet of plexiglass covering the bottom of the TV stand and held up with velcro. Yep, I did that! Even at Lowe’s, Lillian attracts A TON of attention! I bought a sheet of plexiglass, cut it to size, added the velcro, and VOILA! Now she can see herself in the plexiglass and will wave at her reflection. She also likes to kick it.
I’ve become quite creative in babyproofing this 100+ year old house. Because of its age, the walls aren’t exactly straight up and down, so securing baby gates can get interesting. The latest gate that I installed downstairs fit on the bottom but didn’t touch either wall on the top so I stuck dish towels in the gaps and, for now, it works!
Crawling Baby Video
Yep, she is very very mobile. Keeping me on my toes 24/7. Her latest conquest is going after the cat who actually shows his distaste towards her by a pretend bite. I am quite impressed, really, because he will show his distaste for Brian and I by a hard bite accompanied by a paw grab where he digs in his nails. How does he know to be gentle with Lillian? I’m guessing there are some people right now judging me for even letting Duke pretend bite my baby. Get over it, I trust my pets 100%…except for that parrot…I do not trust him…not even 1%. Besides, poor Duke is really put out by all of the baby gates being put up everywhere – he has to work harder at life.

CORRECTION: Lillian is now mobile! Yesterday, she began crawling like a normal baby.
