Running Momma
Usually I have to schedule my posts to show up on the appropriate days because I write them ahead of time (what, you think I’m up at 4:30am three times a week, yeah right!). Right now, all I have to do is hit publish once this post is finished because it is WAY past my bedtime, and, on top of that, I’m sure you’ve noticed the lack of posts as of late. This is all attributed to REALLY BIG weekend ahead!
First up? My first Cincinnati Reds game of the season! Some of my friends and I bought a Friday night season ticket package and I am finally able to go! I am looking forward to cheering on the Redlegs!
About a year ago I took up running as a way to work through some of tough stuff life throws at you. Even a mile or so every now and then was the best way to de-stress, clear my head, and feel great. I realized that I really liked it, and on Thanksgiving last year, I ran my first 5K and was elated! At that point, I felt adventurous and signed up for a half marathon! It has been a long but wonderful journey training for the Flying Pig! Over the last five months, I have been in a running group that has gotten me through very early, very cold, and very long workouts that have brought me to a place of feeling well prepared for my first big race! Feel free to track my progress bright and early on Sunday morning! I am very excited.
As if 13.1 miles this weekend wasn’t ambitious enough, I decided to throw Lillian’s 2nd birthday party into the mix just to keep things exciting! (Don’t tell anyone that I shamelessly used her party as a way to draw supporters down to Cincinnati on Race morning!) No big deal hosting 40 people at my house the day before a half marathon, right?!
Stay tuned for a fun recap of all the festivities, but for now: MUST.GO.TO.BED!
