Run For Shelter
Tomorrow is the big day! The Run for Shelter 5k and Carnival will be held tomorrow in Hyde Park Plaza with activities beginning at 9am! There will be a 5k, Kids Fun Run (which Lillian is participating in, of course!), Diaper Dash, carnival games, field games, an Easter egg hunt, a visit from the Easter bunny, a bounce house (one of my personal favorites!), yummy food, a silent auction, and lots of neat giveaways! Whew! There will be a lot going on and our team has worked tireless pulling everything together.
Why all of the hard work? Proceeds from our event go to benefit Transitions Global, an amazing organization that empowers survivors of sex trafficking. Many of the girls that are used in the sex trade are VERY YOUNG, that fact, alone, is enough to make me want to puke, but when I think about my own little girl being in that situation – that is more than enough for me to ACT!
So if you’re in the Cincinnati area, come out for a nice run (or walk – we are stroller friendly!). Bring your family to the Plaza for lots of fun! Not in the area? There are many other ways that you can get involved with Transitions Global, check them out here!
