Baby Eating Peas
We have begun to introduce REAL food to Miss Lillian! She has been munching on rice cereal and oatmeal for about a month now and has been loving it! She was definitely ready to step it up a notch! Our first pick was peas, (see below), and she quickly gobbled down squash after that. Our pediatrician recommended waiting a few days between new foods to make sure she doesn’t have an allergic reaction, so we’ll probably introduce green beans soon!

You’re not a bad mom…you’re making your own food, that’s awesome! We gave her some carrots last night…she didn’t seem to be too big of a fan…maybe she’ll have a change of hear tonight! How much do you feed her? I’m never sure if she’s getting enough. Right now she’s 4Tbs of oatmeal and a 7oz bottle in the morning, an 8oz bottle around 11 and 3, and 4Tbs of rice cereal, half (if not all) of a Gerber veggie pod, and a 6oz bottle at bedtime – she usually doesn’t finish all of the bottle.

My ped told me on Friday at her 6 month well visit, to start giving her three meals a day. I asked him how much and he said not to bother measuring food. She will eat as much as she wants, then stop.
She has four 6-ounce bottles a day- once when she wakes up, after each of her two naps, and one before bed. Doc says she should be getting about 24 ounces of forumla a day.
In the morning she has about 2 Tbsps. cereal and about 1 ounce fruit, 2 ounces veggies only for lunch, and 2 Tbsps. cereal and 1 ounce veggies for dinner.
I am kind of winging it? I mean, I haven’t read any hard and fast rules for weaning on foods… So far, it seems to be going well though!

I just posted a video of Bea eating peas on our blog! Lillian’s taste for it was much better than Bea’s!
I never waited in between introducing foods…Does that make me a bad Mom? We started with avocado, bananas and green beans, Then, moves on to sweet potato, squash, apples, peaches, and carrots… those did not go over so well!
Good Luck! And have fun!
